To control the above given pest, two configurations are used:
The cockroaches are now controlled by using gel. Unlike in the past, it is not necessary to spay smelling insecticides which used to cause a mess in the house, there is no need to empty the drawers and cover – up the food. It is also not necessary to house and go away.
Small amount of gel are applied in strategic but inconspicuous locations with the help of a syringe. The active ingredient in the gel is made from a new class molecule. It has many advantages comparing to the other method of cockroach control. The dosagerequired is very low and it does not repel but attract cockroaches. The gel is safely applied in all sensitive areas such as electrical control boxes, kitchen appliances, and cracks, crevices and computers etc.The cockroaches get attracted to the gel. They eat it and die.
The salient features of this technology are the gel has no smell no odour. It is an edible product especially attractive to cockroach gel has cascading effect. Once some cockroaches have eaten the gel they also contaminate other cockroaches thus producing cascading effect throughout the papulation of cockroaches.
In spite of the treatment, sometimes the insects come again very soon from the surrounding areas. The insecticides that are allowed to be used in places hebetated by human beings (as per the insecticide Act 1968) are not as toxic, since the very toxic insecticides are also harmful to human beings. The insecticides allowed mainly kill whatever insects are there on contact.
